What this is:
Bottega Veneta is marking a milestone—the 50th anniversary of its iconic Intrecciato leather weave—with a captivating new campaign, “Craft is our Language.” Helmed by photographer Jack Davison and movement director Lenio Kaklea, the campaign brings together a glittering cast—from Tyler, the Creator to Julianne Moore, I.N of Stray Kids, Zadie Smith, Lauren Hutton, and a constellation of other luminaries. The imagery is a love letter to Bottega’s signature craftsmanship: meticulously handwoven leather, captured in tactile close-ups and expressive hand gestures that echo the interlacing of art, fashion, and human connection.

Our take:
Few brands wear their heritage with such understated pride as Bottega Veneta, and this campaign reminds us why. “Craft is our Language” isn’t just a slogan—it’s a living tradition that bridges generations and disciplines. Davison’s lens finds genuine warmth among the campaign’s diverse icons, from pop’s ever-inventive Tyler, the Creator to Julianne Moore’s timeless poise, and even the legendary Lauren Hutton, whose Intrecciato clutch in American Gigolo became a pop culture artifact.

The campaign’s cast reads like a who’s-who of contemporary creativity: music producer Jack Antonoff, horror auteur Dario Argento, former Bottega Design Director Edward Buchanan (responsible for their first Ready-to-Wear line), artist Barbara Chase-Riboud, and many more, all wrapped in the house’s sumptuous bags, gloves, outerwear, and ready-to-wear pieces. There’s a subtle poetry here—in the way hands intertwine, in the tactile luxury of the weaving—that honors Bottega’s Venetian roots while feeling entirely modern.

The Intrecciato technique itself, introduced in 1975, is the brand’s heartbeat: slender strips of leather (fettucce) are handwoven with painstaking precision, a process refined and reimagined over generations. No wonder Bottega calls it a “language”—it’s a craft, a code, and a quiet statement all at once.

Looking ahead, Bottega is set to extend this celebration into September with a print book that promises to serve as a “dictionary” of the house’s values, as well as a new round of campaign visuals and short films. In an industry so often driven by hype and speed, Bottega Veneta’s campaign stands as a testament to patience, artistry, and the enduring charm of exquisite craftsmanship.
